Oeko-Tex |

In Europe, they’re serious about consumer safety. For 10 years, the Swiss association called Oeko-Tex (eco-tex) has been thoroughly testing textiles for harmful chemicals and health hazards.
Using stringent testing standards, they analyze products under laboratory conditions and through observation, for:
- Human ecology: the chemical and molecular composition of textiles and their effect on consumer health
- Production ecology: safe materials, water and energy consumption, waste treatment, noise abatement
- Performance ecology: the effects of usage such as washing and dry-cleaning on the environment
- Disposal ecology: recovery, recycling, and disposal methods
Swisstex, the extremely clean latex foam cushioning we use in our mattresses, has been thoroughly vetted by Oeko-Tex. They have awarded it their certification as 100% natural latex absolutely free of harmful chemical agents.
European Sleep Works also sent Oeko-Tex the wool we use and our Bioneem cotton mattress cover for testing. They, too have been certified as chemical-free and safe for consumers.
